Casual presentation of traditional knowledge of short-term remedies made with local herbs. True herbalism uses herbs holistically over the long-term. Medicinal herbs are sourced in the wild, from gardens, and through suppliers. Remedies are typically ingested orally (tinctures, teas, decoctions, in salads) or applied externally (salves, lotions and ointments, poultices and compresses, soaks and scrubs.). As interest indicates and time allows, presentation will include herbs for: bug bites and stings, itchy skin, sunburn, wounds, sprains, indigestion, sore throats, coughs and congestion, nerves and anxiety, and sore muscles. Presented by Susan Curry.
