OUR
IMPACTWe are proud to feed and teach the community from our local, organically grown farm. Our impact in the community includes:
WE GIVE
Our Fresh Produce Giving program has the goal of giving thousands of pounds of fresh produce grown from our farm, reducing the barriers to access locally grown organic vegetables. This program has significantly expanded over recent years. Just five years ago we gave 8,000 pounds of fresh produce to our hunger relief partners and have increased that number every year since. In 2021, we’ve given 26,000 pounds of produce, the largest amount in our history of the program. This is approximately 16% of our total harvest.
WE TEACH
Our education program encompasses both our community and future farmers. The CSA members learn about what goes into growing their food through weekly newsletters, volunteering with us in the fields, and educational events on the farm. Through our collaborative education program with The College Settlement, 3,000 campers visit the farm to learn up close about food and farming. We have comprehensive farmer training programs designed to teach the skills required to own or manage a farm. Since 2014, we have graduated 10 new farmers from our 20-month farmer apprenticeship program.
