By participating in the Pennypack Farm & Education CSA,

You Agree: I appreciate local, sustainably grown produce and want to ensure that it remains available by participating in the Pennypack Farm & Education Center (PFEC) Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Program. I understand that the farmers and staff pledge to do their best to provide the vegetables they propose at the times they estimate. However, as a shareholder in both the bounty and the risk, I understand that nature ultimately decides what I will receive and when I will receive it. I have read the refund policy below and understand there are no refunds after the CSA begins. I have read all of the terms  and agree to them for the summer season in which I participate.

REFUND POLICY
We do not offer refunds for shares, although we will accept transfers if you are unable to continue your subscription. Pennypack Farm must be consulted before you sell your share and has final approval of transfer of membership.

MISSED PICKUPS
We harvest much of your share the day before your designated pick up day. If you are unable to pick up your share, you are welcome to send a friend on your pickup day. Please explain to that friend the pickup hours and general CSA protocol. Unclaimed shares are donated. We do not provide refunds for missed shares, or allow you to “double up” to make up for missed produce. On special circumstances and with at least two business days notice by email, we may approve a switch of a pickup day, but please do not assume a switch of a day is possible.

SPLITTING SHARES
A CSA share may be split between a maximum of two households, and will be considered one account. Anyone splitting a share must do so on their own. Pennypack Farm is not responsible for payment or distribution when a share is split between parties and will not be involved in disputes between parties splitting shares. As there are limits to the quantity of each vegetable, you must pick up a share in full at one time and split between partners off-site (if applicable).

SHARE DUTY
Every CSA member account is required to complete four total hours of volunteering in the season, or pay the required amount by last pickup. Members will use the volunteer portal to record hours and work with staff members to ensure CSA account hours are reconciled. Any requests for exemption must be done in writing and approved by staff management. Incomplete hours or payment may affect future membership status.

CSA MEMBERSHIP
The staff of PFEC strive to make your membership experience as positive and enjoyable as possible. In return, we require that all who participate in our programs treat farm staff, volunteers, and other CSA members with courtesy and respect in all written and in person interactions. In the event that a CSA member violates this agreement, we reserve the right to immediately terminate the CSA household’s membership. Such termination shall be conveyed to the main CSA account holder in writing and will take effect immediately. Upon termination, a prorated fee for the unused portion of the CSA membership shall be returned to the CSA member.  PFEC reserves the right to refuse a future CSA membership to a terminated CSA member and/or household based upon past conduct in violation of this clause. Any complaints of non-respectful behavior within the CSA or on the property should be immediately reported to the Executive Director.

CSA members who have outstanding balances owed may be prevented from signing up in future seasons.

Terms valid as of January 1, 2024
